Against All Odds: School Gardens Bloom in West Contra Costa

With help from the Center for Ecoliteracy, a grassroots collaborative of educators, community members, and students is creating successful garden programs in challenging settings. A rubble-strewn lot is reborn as a haven where children work, play, learn, and dream. Garden classrooms are also sources for affordable, healthy food in underserved neighborhoods.
