Rethinking Food, Health, and the Environment: Making Learning Connections | |||
The California session will be residential, held at the San Domenico School, an independent school located on more than 500 acres in Marin County. The school is 20 miles north of San Francisco and west of Berkeley. The campus offers a large conference room and several break-out rooms, as well as a garden and outdoor kitchen, athletic center, swimming pool, and tennis courts. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will feature fresh, prepared-from-scratch food, much harvested from the school gardens or other local, sustainable sources. Accommodations will be provided in double rooms, beginning Sunday night June 22 through Thursday night June 27. We encourage participants to stay onsite to enjoy evening events and networking. The New York session will take place at Teachers College Columbia University and will begin with a welcome dinner at 7:00 pm Friday evening. We will have seminars and workshops from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm Saturday through Tuesday and 8:30 am until 1:00 pm on Wednesday. Breakfast and lunches will be prepared and served in the EarthFriends room at Teachers College, using fresh and local foods. For those traveling from out of town, we have available single occupancy rooms from Friday night through Tuesday night, with check out on Wednesday morning.
